Oscar 2021 announced the result from the nominee of every category on 25 April. Oscar 2021 is also called 93rd Academy Awards

Recently Academy announced the result of Oscar 2021 awards from the nominee of every category on 25 April. The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, honored the best films of 2020 and early 2021.

Here is the list of categories of winners and many more.

ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE:

WINNER : ANTHONY HOPKINS

“The Father”

Anthony Hopkins has previously also been nominated five-time for the Oscar. In addition to this, he won one in the year 1991 for the movie “The Silence of the Lambs” and now for “The Father”.

ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE:

WINNER : DANIEL KALUUYA

“Judas and the Black Messiah”

Daniel Kaluuya finally got his first Oscar in 2021 for best actor. Kaluuya got this award for the movie named “Get Out”. He also acted in the Marvel Cinematic movie “Black Panther” as W’Kabi.

ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE:

WINNER : FRANCES MCDORMAND

“Nomadland”

Oscar 2021 for the best actress was held by Frances McDormand. McDormand has won many awards and currently, she has 4 Academy awards in different category including Oscar 2021.

ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE:

WINNER : YUH-JUNG YOUN

“Minari”

It’s one of the pride moments for her since it’s the first time in history that any Korean performer wins an award in one of the acting categories.

DIRECTING:

WINNER : Chloé Zhao

“Nomadland”

Chloé Zhao shared her picture holding the Oscar in her hand it can be seen she was very excited.

BEST PICTURE:

WINNER : NOMADLAND

“Frances McDormand, Peter Spears, Mollye Asher, Dan Janvey and Chloé Zhao, Producers”

This picture won the 93rd academy award on 25th April 2021. Please watch our movie on the largest screen possible,” said Frances McDormand, a producer of “Nomadland”

ANIMATED FEATURE FILM:

WINNER : SOUL

“Pete Docter and Dana Murray”

Best animated feature film goes in the bag of Pixar’s “Soul”. Pete Docter and Dana Murray held the award and afterward shows it to one another.

SHORT FILM (ANIMATED):

WINNER : IF ANYTHING HAPPENS I LOVE YOU

“Will McCormack and Michael Govier”

“If Anything Happens I Love You” is a beautifully illustrated animated short film. This film takes us on an extraordinary emotional journey. Journey of two parents struggling to overcome the hurt left by a tragic event that leaves their family changed forever. Will McCormack and Michael Govier both directed the film and also produced it.

SHORT FILM (LIVE ACTION):

WINNER : TWO DISTANT STRANGERS

“Travon Free and Martin Desmond Roe”

Travon Free, Martin Desmond Roe won the Oscar for the Two Distant Stranger into the category of Short Film (Live Action).

INTERNATIONAL FEATURE FILM:

WINNER : ANOTHER ROUND

“Denmark”

Four friends, all high school teachers, test a theory that they will improve their lives by maintaining a constant level of alcohol in their blood. This movie won the Oscar and the director Thomas Vinterberg received the award.

CINEMATOGRAPHY:

WINNER : MANK

“Erik Messerschmidt”

“Mank” cinematographer thanks director David Fincher for creating an environment where they could work together.

COSTUME DESIGN:

WINNER : MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM

“Ann Roth”

Ann Roth won the Oscar in the Best costume design category for the movie Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. She previously won four Oscar in the years 1984, 1986, 1999, and 2002 including this year’s oscar 2021.

DOCUMENTARY (FEATURE):

WINNER : MY OCTOPUS TEACHER

“Pippa Ehrlich”, “James Reed” and “Craig Foster”

It’s the first time of directors Pippa Ehrlich and James Reed were nominated for this category.  “My Octopus Teacher” is a short documentary starring Craig Foster which is released on Netflix.

DOCUMENTARY (SHORT SUBJECT):

WINNER : COLETTE

“Pippa Ehrlich”, “Anthony Giacchino” and “Alice Doyard”

COLETTE is a short documentary made under the ‘Time Travel Unlimited’ production. Anthony Giacchino and Alice Doyard received the award on Sunday night.

FILM EDITING:

WINNER : SOUND OF METAL

“Mikkel E. G. Nielsen”

Mikkel E.G. Nielsen received the award for best film editing for the movie “Sound of Metal” made under amazon studios directed by ‘Darius Marder’.

MAKEUP AND HAIRSTYLING:

WINNER : MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM

“Sergio Lopez-Rivera, Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson”

Sergio Lopez-Rivera, Mia Neal, and Jamika Wilson received the award in the category of Makeup and Hairstyling.

MUSIC (ORIGINAL SCORE):

WINNER : SOUL

Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Jon Batiste

Hard work pays off Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Jon Batiste three proved that by taking that golden statue home. They got the original score award for giving music in the soul which literally intact the soul to it.

MUSIC (ORIGINAL SONG):

WINNER : FIGHT FOR YOU

“from Judas and the Black Messiah; Music by H.E.R. and Dernst Emile II; Lyric by H.E.R. and Tiara Thomas”

“Fight For You” won the Oscar for Music (Original Song). The music is given by H.E.R and Dernst Emile II while the lyric is given by H.E.R and Tiara Thomas. H.E.R. exclaimed, “all those days of Sly and the Family Stone and Marvin Gaye, thank you, Dad, it really paid off.”

PRODUCTION DESIGN:

WINNER : MANK

“Production Design: Donald Graham Burt; Set Decoration: Jan Pascale”

Donald Graham Burt the production designer and the set decorator Jan Pascale took the golden statue home for their work in “Mank”.

Sound:

WINNER : SOUND OF METAL

“Nicolas Becker, Jaime Baksht, Michellee Couttolenc, Carlos Cortés and Phillip Bladh”

These Mexican boys Nicolas Becker, Jaime Baksht, Michelle Couttolenc, Carlos Cortés, and Phillip Bladh get that shining golden statue. They have won it with their hard work and passion.

Also in addition to this the American director of “Sound of Metal”, Darius Marder, traveled to Mexico to work together with the team.

VISUAL EFFECTS:

WINNER : TENET

Andrew Jackson, David Lee, Andrew Lockley and Scott Fisher

Andrew Jackson has previously got one nomination in 2015’s for “Mad Max: Fury Road”. Also Andrew Lockley had 2 nominations and won twice for 2010’s “Inception” and 2014’s “Interstellar”.

Besides them, Fisher had also won for “Interstellar”, while for Chambers it was his first Oscar award.  

WRITING (ADAPTED SCREENPLAY):

WINNER : THE FATHER

Screenplay by Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller

This year’s writing (ADAPTED SCREENPLAY) 2021 goes in the pocket of ‘The Father’ written and directed by Emerald Fennell.

WRITING (ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY):

WINNER : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN

“Written by Emerald Fennell”

Promising Young Woman written by Emerald Fennell won the 93rd academy award in the category of writing (Original Screenplay).
